Portland is also the departure point for the high-speed Cat Ferry to Nova Scotia and the Casco Bay Lines ferry serves the city’s many islands. The harbor’s natural beauty provides some of the best boating in Maine and is the gateway to the Maine coast. There are plenty of good harbors in Casco Bay and lots of islands to explore.
